  • Yes, our tzitzit are kosher.

    We offer the choice of cotton, Tencel or wool string to tie our tzitzit. The wool string is hand-spun by artists Channing Hansen and Sam Sklar for the purpose of tying our tzitzit. Our Tencel and cotton are not.

    We cut the string before tying and do not use metal scissors after the tzitzit are tied.

    We recite the phrase “l’shem mitzvat tzitzit / for the sake of performing the mitzvah of tzitzit,” when tying.

    Our tzitzit garments are open on both sides with four corners on the bottom.

    We do not use techelet (blue wool) from a chilazon (marine snail).

  • For the Ashkenazi custom the ties are 7, 8, 11, 13, which  totals 39 and is the gematria of yed he vav heh (god’s name) + echad (one).

    For the Sephardic custom the ties are 10, 5, 6, 5, which totals 26 and is the gematria of yud heh vav heh (god’s name).

  • Yes, our materials are sustainable. 

    We use close-out/dead-stock fabrics in nylon, spandex, and poly mesh that would otherwise traditionally be headed for the landfill. 

    The colors and materials that our tzitzit are made from may vary based on what is available. We do our best to match the colors and fabrics featured on our website.

    We use zero-waste and home compostable HEROPACK shipping mailers. You can put them in your home compost bin!

  • Yes, our tzitzit are ethically produced.

    All of our tzitzit are designed and lovingly made in Los Angeles on unceded Tongva Land.

    Fair wages are paid to all who are contracted by us.

    On all of our sales, we pay a 2% guest offering to Tongva Taraxat Paxaavxa Conservancy.

  • Yes, if you find that your size is not reflected on our size chart or your material needs are not met, please contact us at info@tzitzitproject.com.

  • We do not offer refunds. However, if there is an issue with your order, we are happy to discuss options to ensure you are entirely satisfied. Please reach out to us at info@tzitzitproject.com.

  • Our Tzitzit are made from close-out/dead-stock nylon mesh are quite durable. We recommend hand washing your tzitzit in cold water, non-chlorine bleach, and air dry only, cool iron, do not dry clean. Carefully untangle your strings by hand.

  • We sure do! Our goal is to make Tzitzit available to as many people as possible. To place an order from out of the United States or Canada please reach out to us at info@tzitzitproject.com.

  • All of our Tzitzit are thoughtfully made and packaged by hand in Los Angeles, CA. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks to receive your Tzitzit.
